BioQT™ - What is it?

Reliably measuring the QT interval has been a slow and subjective manual process, because of the absence of an efficient and cost-effective tool. Until now.

The BioQT ™ System utilizes advanced signal processing techniques for automatically measuring the QT interval from a patient’s ECG. A unique feature of BioQT is that it also provides a probability of conformance to the exemplar set for each QT interval measured, which allows noisy or corrupted waveforms to be identified and set aside automatically. These ECGs can later be manually interpreted if deemed necessary.

The QT interval is an important biomarker of a drug’s potential cardiac safety risk. In 2001, the FDA recommended that all pharmaceutical sponsors submit Thorough QT (TQT) results for all drugs. “BioQT™ has the capability to analyze a much greater quantity of electrocardiographic data in each subject as compared to conventional methods of analysis. The result will be much greater specificity and sensitivity for abnormal repolarization which will allow drugs to be more accurately evaluated with fewer subjects exposed in smaller, less expensive trials.”
